Desmond's development Category

When I was pregnant, I had people tell me about how other parents would judge or condemn my parenting choices.  They would warn me that those parents should be ignored, or that all advice should be taken with a grain of salt.  And since I knew that most controversial parenting choices consisted of vaccinations, breastfeeding, [...]

I tend to stick my foot in my mouth. It’s not something I do intentionally, but usually the result of me not thinking before I speak. I’ve gotten better over the years, but it still happens more often than not.
Ricky really tends to stick his foot in his mouth. He’ll mean to [...]

A few times a week, we go outside and water some of our plants that don’t get watered by the sprinklers.  This is something that Ricky usually does because for some reason, watering is a soothing thing for him (I honestly have no idea why).  Anyway, whether Ricky and I do the watering, we take [...]

The other day, Desmond discovered the tissue box that’s on the coffee table.  And for the rest of the day, Desmond was beyond fascinated with that tissue box.  He examined it, looked at all the sides, and studied the hole on the top.  And then, he discovered the tissues inside.  Once he realized that he [...]

Growing up, I was always in my sister’s shadow.  I felt like I was constantly being compared to her, and never quite measuring up.  I would have people tell me how beautiful my sister was and how we looked nothing alike.  I would hear about how my sister was such an great athlete, and well, [...]

About this blog

My name is Mallory. I’m a socially awkward person and really stink at making small talk. It’s something I’m working on, but if we ever meet in person, I apologize in advance for all the uncomfortable silences. I love dirty jokes – the dirtier the better. So, when we meet and I’m being awkward, tell me a dirty joke and I’ll get more comfortable.

I’m married to Ricky. He’s a firefighter/paramedic. We’ve known each other since I was 12 and have been a couple since I was 16. He’s really silly and I love that about him. He makes me happy. I really like him.

We had a baby in 2009. His name is Desmond and we love him. He’s amazing and we basically think he’s one of the greatest kids in the world.

In 2011, we had identical twin girls, Scarlett and Isla. We also think they are amazing and they are the two other greatest kids in the world.

This blog is meant to be a chronicle of our life together.
