My sweet ladybugs,

You girls turned 8 months last weekend.  And like always, Momma’s a bit behind on posting your monthly letter.  Forgive me, but life here is chaotic.  Hopefully it won’t be so crazy by the time you can read this.

My girls, this past month with you has been so much fun.  It really feels like you’ve gone from being infants to curious, funny, sweet babies.  You each have such distinctive personalities and I love seeing them.

Scarlett, you are the nosiest little thing.  If something is going on or somebody is doing something, you want to know who it is and what they’re doing.  You need to see what everyone’s up to and hate when you don’t get to. You will crane your neck in your high chair to try to see what I’m doing when I’m making your food.

Speaking of which, you aren’t the best vegetable eater, Scars.  You tend to spit lots of them out, well, most of the green ones anyway.  You do like sweet potatoes, carrots, and just about any fruit.  And you’ve gotten a little bit better about eating broccoli.  But peas or asparagus are not a favorite.

Isla, you have gone from our kind-of-quiet baby to our babbling, talking non-stop baby.  You love to talk and chat and will babble away to anyone who will listen.  Often, when you wake up from sleeping, I’ll hear you on the monitor, just babbling away to yourself.  I love hearing your little voice and can’t wait until you start using real words.

Isley, you also don’t like green veggies, though you are a bit better about it than your sister.  You will eat most of them, even if you don’t particularly like them.  Except peas.  Good Lord, child, you would think I was poisoning you every time you take a bite of peas.  You gag and try to spit them out as much as you can.  You make funny faces and make retching noises.  It’s a little dramatic, but it cracks me up.

Girls, you both are such joys to us.  You both love to giggle and laugh and love talking to each other.  I think one of my favorite things is watching you two together.  Seeing you guys talk and play with each other is just fascinating for me and I love witnessing the bond between you.  I really hope and pray that you have that special twin bond that I hear so much about.

Lovebugs, we love you so much.  We love watching you roll all over the house and try to get up on your knees to crawl.  We love watching Isla rock out in her high chair, rocking back and forth.  We love seeing Scarlett roll around until she gets to the toy she wants.  But more than all of that, we just love you for who you are.

We love you more than you know,

Momma and Daddy
